Friendship is the shadow of the evening

The Andela bootcamp, which I have been a part of for the past four days has been nothing but fun, inspiring and an avenue to learn, both from the LFAs and my fellow bootcampers. I’ve been opportuned to meet and interact with a couple of bootcampers who I never thought I could’ve ever met if not for the bootcamp.

They have been a source to learn and draw inspiration from. They have also been thoroughly helpful and fun to be around with. The saying, ‘show me your friend and I’ll tell you who you are’, really holds true, because even though I’ve only spent four days with most of these wonderful individuals, I feel I’ve known them for ages and their hard work, persistence and knowledge really inspires me to growth on a daily basis.

There are three bootcampers which I’ve interacted more with, who have really had much of an impart on my views about humans in general.

SAMUEL MICHAEL TOMIWA

This young man is a bundle of knowledge and he’s really humble for what he actually knows. I kept taunting him for a while trying to see if he’ll blow up but he kept been humble.

I’ve also benefited from discussions with him. We argue a lot and I still can’t seized to be amazed by the way he structures and delivers his point of views. He argues constructively and also hopes to learn from every other person’s argument.

AFFIONG UNO

Fifi (as she’s called), is someone I’ve run into a couple times before the bootcamp but I’ve never really had any form of conversation with her. I finally broke that spell a few hours into the bootcamp when she threw a question at me. We kept talking for a while after and I was let into her world of experience, knowledge and cheerfulness.

She’s a kind and jovial heart and her love for programming will definitely take her places.

NDITAH SAMWELD

While we were all getting set to start the day, on the first day of bootcamp, this young man came out to the front, introduced himself and started asking everyone to introduce themselves too. At first, I wasn’t really paying any attention as I was looking forward to the start of the bootcamp and was actually a little nervous. We got talking a while later and became close friends from there on.

An electronic engineer from UNN, who graduated 2010. He has been programming for a while and his wealth of experience has helped me through a few bugs.

My name sake as I usually call him, Sam is a man of integrity and respect. He’s fun to be around with and he also holds the record for been the first bootcamper I interacted with. His intelligence, candid advice and sense of humor is pretty amazing.
